Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili believes that ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili has to cooperate with the investigation and give comprehensive answers to all questions, even to those unpleasant for him.
"He has to give comprehensive answers to all questions, in order to dispel suspicions and help the investigation. If he retains good sense, then he should come," Garibashvili said in an exclusive interview with the Kviris Palitra newspaper.
He said Saakashvili just has to come, because he was Georgia's president for nine years, and the government, namely the prosecutor's office has questions for him.
"Another question is whether he will come or not, but I think he has to come, if he still retains good sense," Garibashvili added.
He also said if Saakashvili does not come, the prosecutor's office will act in accordance with the law and declare him wanted.
"If he does not come, then, he will be declared wanted in accordance with the law. Today he is an ordinary citizen. Prosecutor's office has some questions for him on very serious cases. Let him come and answer," the prime minister said.
Georgian prosecutor general's office summoned former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili for questioning to be held on March 27 at 13:00 (local time).
