France intends to be actively engaged in Georgia’s European integration process

French President Francois Hollande and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met in The Hague and discussed the agenda of French president's visit to Tbilisi scheduled for May, press service of Georgian government told Trend on March 25.

The Georgian prime minister positively assessed the upcoming visit of the French president and pointed out that this is another confirmation of friendly, partnership relations between the two countries.

During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and paid special attention to France's role in the process of Georgia's European integration. Paris expressed its intention to be actively engaged in the process of intensification of Georgian-EU relations.

Garibashvili also briefed the French president about the business environment, the political and economic processes in the country.

The parties stressed plans to open an office of the French Development Agency in Georgia

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Francois Hollande for France's support to Georgia's territorial integrity.

Within the Nuclear Security Summit which is being held in The Hague, Georgian prime minister also met with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the parties reaffirmed their intention to intensify bilateral cooperation.
