The leak of top secret security discussions on threats against a Turkish enclave in Syria will only be to the advantage of the Syrian regime and al-Qaeda, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has said Anadolu Agency reported.

His comments on Friday came a day after illegal recordings of a meeting between high-level Turkish state officials discussing possible threats to a Turkish territory in Aleppo, Syria, were illegally recorded and leaked.

In a press meeting in western Bursa province, Arinc said such operations had the common aim of undermining the Turkish government and discrediting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and that after this Sunday's local elections in Turkey, all such acts would be examined by the Turkish judiciary and necessary administrative precautions would be taken.

The tomb of Suleyman Shah, situated in Turkish territory in Syria under international law, is believed to be under threat due to an increase in fighting between the Syrian opposition and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL.

Protected by Turkish troops, the Suleyman Shah Tomb and surrounding area are located in Aleppo's Manbij district, approximately 30km from the Turkish border.
