Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met with the head of the European Union's Observation Mission in Georgia, Toivo Klaar.
During the meeting the parties discussed the situation in the Georgian- Ossetian conflict zone and the living conditions of population of Georgia's separatist regions.
Aside from that, they discussed the humanitarian aspects of the situation in the conflict zone and regional security issues.
Margvelashvili and Klaar also touched upon the results of Geneva talks held in March 2014.
Georgian president thanked the EU mission for its efficient work and stressed the need to continue the activity.
Geneva talks were held following an armed conflict in Georgia in August 2008, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement dated August 12.
A large scale military action was launched in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military.
Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in late August.
In response, Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow and has called the two unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
