Iranian MP opposes establishment of EU office in Tehran

Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Allaˈeddin Boroujerdi, has expressed opposition to setting up of the EU representative office in Tehran, saying that in view of EU parliamentˈs approval of anti-Iran resolution, the grounds are not ready for the purpose, IRNA reported.

Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Allaˈeddin Boroujerdi, has expressed opposition to setting up of the EU representative office in Tehran, saying that in view of EU parliamentˈs approval of anti-Iran resolution, the grounds are not ready for the purpose, IRNA reported.

Boroujerdi said that the countryˈs foreign policy is based on dignity, wisdom, expediency, mutual interest and non-interference in any countryˈs affairs and it will forge and maintain ties with other states within the framework.

Interference and imperative stances have no place In Iranˈs foreign policy, he said, noting that given the conditions set by the Europeans, Iran will never allow the establishment of an office in Tehran.

Given the approval of an anti-Iran resolution by the EU parliament, establishment of the office in Tehran is very unlikely, Boroujerid said.
