New ecotourism routes were developed in Georgia.

The agency of Protected Areas under the Georgian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has completed working on the project "Strengthening of Georgia's Protected Areas".

The project was implemented with the support of the World Tourism Organization and the German government. It envisages the creation of nine new ecotourism products in five reserves.

To mark the event, Georgian Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Khatuna Gogaladze spoke about the importance of the project.

Georgian First Deputy Minister of Economy Dimitry Kumsishvili, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Rati Japaridze, head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration Giorgi Sigua and Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai attended.
All these services will be available to visitors from the beginning of the tourist season in 2014.
