Head of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) will attend the spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Valiollah Seif, left Tehran for Washington, D.C. in the U.S. on April 8 to participate in the meeting, Iranian IRNA news agency reported on April 8.

Each year, the annual Spring and Autumn Meetings are held in mid-April and mid-October in Washington, D.C. respectively, and every three years a member county hosts the annual summit.

The 2014 Spring Meeting is slated for April 11-13.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the IMF is an organization of 188 countries working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.
