Iran, Group 5+1 second round of talks ends

Deputy Foreign Ministers of Iran and member countries of Group 5+1 ended the second round of talks in Vienna and began bilateral consultations, IRNA reported.

Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi started his consultation with Political, Foreign and Commonwealth Office Director General Simon Gass and Abbas Araqchi held a meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman.

Araqchi, already held talks with deputy foreign ministers of China and Russia.

At the second round of talks, the latest unsolved issues were discussed.

With the final summing up of the talks, which takes two days, the seven countries will be prepared to enter the phase of compiling a joint text.

In the opening session of this round of talks, which is called Vienna III, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton were present for a while.

Zarif on Monday evening, after a working dinner with Ms. Ashton told reporters he hopes after ending technical discussions, the phase to prepare a draft text begins.

He called this phase among the most difficult sections.

Meeting of experts from Iran and Group 5+1 was held on April 3-5 in Vienna under chairmanship of Hamid Baeideenejad, from Iran, and Stephan Clement, Assistant to EU Foreign Policy Chief.

Zarif said that on Tuesday and Wednesday, the participants will exchange views on issues which have not been discussed yet.
