International donors have allocated additional funds for the general population census in Georgia in 2014.
A briefing was held on this occasion by the executive director of Georgian National Statistics Office (GeoStat) Meri Daushvili, head of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) in Georgia Eva Smedberg and head of the UN Population Fund (
During the briefing it was stressed that the donor assistance is directed to conduct a full population census, including data collection, creating a quality supervision system, conducting all-round media campaign to inform the public, holding high-quality census and publishing questionnaires for the population.
GeoStat is a partner of this project.
Georgia will hold the general census of population between November 5 and November 19, 2014.
