Russian Deputy FM, Grigory Karasin and Georgian Prime Minister's Special Envoy on Relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze will meet in Prague on April 16.

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze told journalists on Tuesday, April 15 that Abashidze is departing for the Czech Republic's capital.

"The meeting was to be held immediately after the Olympic Games in Sochi in late February, but was postponed twice at the request of the Russian side," the minister said.

Panjikidze said the parties will not be able to avoid discussing security issues, despite the fact the meeting's format does not include this.

"Questions have been accumulated in this regard, and I think that they will be discussed," Panjikidze said.

This is the sixth meeting held as part of this format.

Tbilisi currently doesn't have any diplomatic relations with Moscow, following tensions and a conflict which broke out in Georgia's South Ossetia on August 8, 2008.

Russian troops entered Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military. Later, Russia recognised the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

In response, Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow and called the two unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
