By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Chairman of the Georgian parliament David Usupashvili said that German and French foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the NATO Bucharest summit's decision on Georgia.

"The parties agreed that a decision in the interests of Georgia will be made at the summit in September," he said.

"There is a stereotype in Georgia that Eastern European countries support the process of Georgia's integration into NATO," Usupashvili added. "Other countries, namely, France, Germany, etc. have a different position. Germany, France and other countries just may have additional questions and opinions about tactics."

"Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the NATO Bucharest summit's decision on Georgia's joining the alliance," he added.

"But we must talk about specific actions which will be more favorable for Georgia," he said.

"So, we agreed on NATO that a decision will be made in the interests of Georgia at the summit in September. All this will be primarily discussed in terms of security priorities for Georgia.

The alliance has no questions whether it intends to be expanded in the South Caucasus. This decision has been made."
