Cargo of Pakistani books was detained by Iranian security forces on its way to Tehran International Book Fair.

The cargo was detained despite the coordination between the Culture ministry of Iran and the Customs administration in the south eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, director of the international section of the fair Alireza Rabbani said, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on April 30.

The security entities have announced that the cargo should be reviewed, Rabbani said, adding that the case is being under study in the Judiciary.

He expressed hope that the problem will be resolved as soon as possible.

The 27th Tehran International Book Fair was inaugurated in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani on April 29.

The 27th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair will wrap up on May 10.

About 3,000 domestic and international publishers flocked to the last year's edition of the fair.
