Chile plans to open trade mission in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 1

By Demir Azizov- Trend:

Chile plans to open a trade mission in Uzbekistan, Chile's ambassador to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow, Juan Eduardo Eguiguren Guzman said at the Uzbek-Chile business forum held on April 30 in Tashkent.

The business forum was organized by the Uzinfoinvest agency under Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade.

During the business forum, the representatives of Uzbekistan's industrial companies were briefed about Chile's economy and its import demands. For their part, the representatives of the Chilean side became familiar with Uzbekistan's economic potential and investment climate.

The total trade turnover between the two countries is currently quite insignificant, but tends to increase, according to the Uzbek data. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Chile amounted to $301,300 (an increase by three times compared to 2012), including exports - $136,600 and import - $164,700, as of 2013.
