The Georgian parliament will pass a bill on surveillance at the first reading on May 15-16, speaker of the Georgian parliament David Usupashvili said at a press conference on May 1.
"The bill on surveillance was initiated last summer," he added. "Very intensive work over this project was carried out. We sent it to the Council of Europe for expertise and invited several experts to Georgia. Several events were held in March. The representatives of the Judiciary Committee, Prosecutor's Office, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Justice, the Prime Minister's Office, National Security Council worked together effectively in April. Today we can definitely say that the agreements were reached on most issues. We will pass six to seven bills at least in the first reading May 15-16 when the parliament announces a month break."
"There is one question which must be analyzed due to technical problems," he said.
