Nazargulu Shaguliev was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Oman, according to a decree of the Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov.

Shaguliyev also heads the country's diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and is the Turkmen ambassador to Kuwait.

It was reported earlier that, the delegation of Oman headed by the Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khalid Hamad Mohammed al-Gailani visited Ashgabat.

The delegation also included the representatives of the ministries of finance, trade and industry, transport and communications, the chief of the customs department.

During the meeting with the Turkmen government, the delegation held discussion about the establishment of international transport and transit corridor between Iran, Qatar, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, which aims to creation of a reliable communication between the countries of Central Asia and the ports of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.

This agreement was signed in Ashgabat on April 25, 2011.

At this stage, there is a discussion of prospects for cooperation in the field of customs activity, road, railway and sea transportation, as well as joint investment.

Turkmenistan is currently optimizing its ties with the Arab East, as the country's national airline plans to open air service from Ashgabat to Kuwait, Muscat (Oman), Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and Cairo (Egypt) in accordance with the implementation of the national program for the development of civil aviation.
