Tunisian Interior Minister Lotfi Ben Jeddou welcomed expansion of cooperation and bilateral ties with Iran and asked for Tunis to use Iranˈs experiences in different fields, IRNA reported.

In a meeting with Iranˈs Ambassador to Tunis Payman Jebelli on Thursday, Ben Jeddou, by referring to developments in his country after January 14 revolution, said that Tunisia is moving towards democracy.

Strengthening popular bodies are on top of Tunisian government priorities, and in this concern, using Iranˈs cooperation and experiences is very important, he continued.

The two sides also considered ways for expansion of bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of Interior Ministry missions.

Ben Jeddou and Jebelli underlined strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries, including in the field of local councils, confrontation with unprecedented incidents and fighting against narcotics.

The two sides also decided to continue mutual contacts to consider more grounds for cooperation and ways to implement them.
