Iran and the P5+1 group of countries have started a new round of talks in the Austrian capital,Vienna.

The two sides hope to reach a comprehensive deal after several rounds of negotiations over Iran's nuclear energy program.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday night met with European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton at a working dinner.

Iran's top diplomat told reporters that they agreed on the agenda for Wednesday's talks.

Zarif also reiterated that Iran's defense capabilities will not be discussed.

Iran's capacity to enrich uranium, the future of its nuclear facilities, and the removal of U.S.-led sanctions on Tehran are said to be the main topics of the talks.

The talks are expected to last for three days.

The two sides reached an initial deal in Geneva back in November, but it was in the form of a non-paper.

The P5+1 refers to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany.
