More than 40 young, talented Azerbaijani artists are displaying paintings at the Gallery of Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. Their works include large-scale oil paintings, drawings, prints and watercolors. Combining traditional subjects, compositions and techniques, the works of the artists and sculptors exude modernity, as well as a strong sense of power and gracefulness.

The paintings are in an illustrative style, and they catch a lot of attention. Sculptors pushed the limits of their own creative boundaries, choosing ceramics to add more elements of traditional Azerbaijani culture into their works and using wood to invoke the vitality of art.

The art exhibition is being curated by Emin Gahramanov, the owner of EmArt studio, which supports the country's talented young artists.

About 150 Azerbaijani artists and guests from the EY community attended the opening of the exhibition on 22 May. Among the honored guests were representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic, local and international companies and other representatives of cultural and media institutions.

The Managing Partner of EY Azerbaijan, Ilgar Veliyev, welcomed the guests and said that the aim of the project is to grow the public's awareness of art and support talented, young Azerbaijani artists, who inspire and stimulate our world creatively.

"The event aims to not only bring together artists, but also to determine the place of the artist in the major processes of the world. The exhibitions and performances we support are promoted to our people and members of the community, giving them the opportunity to be inspired and motivated. We're proud of our collaboration, which benefits these talented artists. We recognize the leading role that art has in contributing to our vibrant and diverse culture" said Ilgar Veliyev.

Emin Gahramanov expressed his appreciation to EY for the contribution to art: "We are especially pleased that the project, initiated and sponsored by EY, was motivated by the need to support young and talented artists, and offer new ideas and perspectives."

Aghali Ibrahimov, Secretary of the Union of Artists praised the support of young artists.

Senior Advisor of the Ministry of Culture's Visual and Decorative Arts Department, Anar Gurbanov supported this initiative that increases opportunities for creative expression of young generation.

The most impressive part of the exhibition was the extraordinary performance of popular artists in the course of the master class, which aroused great interest among the visitors. The artists used a wide range of textures, colors and lines, featuring one composition in three collages of canvas.

The exhibition will be open till 28 May 2014.

The art exhibition is a significant event for the promotion of talented young artists in the country.
