The Sangachal thermal power plant (TPP), which is one of the most important facilities in Azerbaijan's electricity sphere, generated nearly 300.3 million kilowatt/hours of electricity in Jan.-April, 2014, the country's Azerenergy JSC said on May 26.

The Azerenergy JSC is engaged in production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan.

The Sangachal TPP, with the installed capacity of 300 megawatts, generated around 81.3 million kilowatt/hours of electricity in April, the company said.

The generation capacity of Azerbaijan's power system has increased by 30 percent over the past five years and currently stands at 7,105 megawatts.
