Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover decreased by 3.3 percent (or $54.2 million) to $1.5 billion during the first four months of 2014, Avesta.Tj reported referring to the country's Agency on Statistics.
Tajikistan had trade relations with 80 countries, 10 of them are CIS countries, whose share in the country's foreign trade turnover amounts to 51.7 percent ($818.7 million), according to the agency.
The trade deficit with CIS countries for January-April amounted to $628.1 million, while $396.6 million with far abroad countries.
In January-April, Tajikistan's goods export amounted $279.5 million, while the country's import was over $1.3 million.
Tajikistan's main trade partners from the CIS countries are: Russia ($464.8 million), Kazakhstan ($275.6 million) and Turkmenistan ($28 million), while China ($172 million), Turkey ($122.8 million) and Iran ($95.2 million) are the country's main partners from far abroad.
