Kazakhstan will fully provided its own electricity by 2030, the country's Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Asset Issekeshev said at a press conference in Astana on May 27.

"The concept for development of Kazakhstan's fuel and energy complex till 2030 has approved the balance of power generating facilities. It has been drawn up to prevent shortage and ensure the energy security and supply with domestic electricity."

"As a result of including the nuclear power plants in the electricity balance, we will be able to export our electricity by 2030," he said.

The deputy prime minister went on to add that the concept for development of the country's fuel and energy complex also envisages the strengthening of the power transmission structures.

"Only large power supply organizations without small mediators should remain in the market. And the prices for electricity will be maintained at a reasonable level for consumers," Issekeshev said.
