The delegations of Uzbekistan's and Israel's foreign ministries have held the next round of the political consultations, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on May 28.

The Israeli delegation was headed by the country's Acting First Deputy Director General for Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Daniel Carmon.

During the meeting, held in Israel, the parties exchanged views on the status and prospects for the development of the bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, as well as some international and regional issues.

The delegations stressed that Uzbekistan and Israel have great potential for expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas and first of all in the spheres of agriculture, medicine, high technologies and tourism.

The Israeli delegation was briefed about the favorable conditions created for the foreign investors in the Navoi free special industrial economic zone and Angren special industrial zone of Uzbekistan.

During the political consultations, the two sides also touched upon the issues related to the cooperation in international organizations.

Israel recognized Uzbekistan's independence in December 1991 and its embassy in Tashkent was opened in May 1992. The relationship between two countries is regulated by 15 intergovernmental and three interagency agreements.
