Turkey's labor inspectors have ordered a halt to mining operations at the Isiklar coal mine run by Soma Coal Enterprises Inc, Soma's district governor, Bahattin Atci, said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Atci said the operations were halted in the Isiklar coal mine due to deficiencies found by the inspectors and the coal mine would re-operate once these issues were solved.
The Isiklar mine closure follows the closure of two other coal mines in the region, Eynez and Atabacasi, also run by Soma Coal Enterprises Inc.
All the mines are being thoroughly audited during June following the country's worst mining disaster on May 13, which claimed the lives of 301 miners.
