The members of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (parliament) have rendered around $38,000 worth financial aid to the families of those killed in the coal mine accident in Turkey's Soma city, the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Red Crescent Society, MP Novruzali Aslanov said.
He made the remarks at a plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament on May 30.
Aslanov pointed out that the action started by the Red Crescent Society of Azerbaijan will last until June 20.
To date, about 40 members of the Milli Majlis have taken part in this action.
The head of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society went on to add that the funds gathered by the country's MPs have already been transferred to the account of Turkey's Red Crescent Society.
