Head of Shahroud 115 Emergency Service said late Thursday night that 5 ambulances were forwarded to assist the possible injured victims of a passenger train that had earlier crashed with a cargo train in a Train Station, IRNA reported.

Mahmoud Ameri told IRNA that meanwhile the Damqan Red Crescent Society, too, had forwarded ten ambulances to the train crash incident.

The head of Shahroud Red Crescent Society, too, told IRNA that that society is on red alert position after being informed of the disaster.

The Iranian Northeast Railway officials have informed IRNA that they have dispatched a rescue and relief team and an inspection team to the incident site.

Tehran-Mashhad night train No. 334 crashed into a parked cargo train in Amravan-Damqan Train Station on Thursday night.

The incident occurred at ten past ten and the Iranian Northeast Railways Incidents Commission is now busy surveying the cause for the crash.

According to the latest reports from the crash site the incident has claimed the lives of two passengers, while 30 other injured victims of it were transferred to Semnan City hospitals.

The train had left Tehran at 5 pm with 340 passengers and two of its compartments were damaged in the incident.

Nearby cities' Red Crescent Society personnel, Fore Department officers, emergency staffs and railway officials are all at the site of the incident, each taking care of an aspect of the disaster and assisting crash victims.
