Uzbekistan and Great Britain will hold the 21st session of the Uzbek-British Board of Trade and Industry in Tashkent in the fourth quarter of this year, the ministry told Trend on June 12.

The agreement was reached at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade and British Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Edgar.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of further expansion of trade-economic, investment and financial cooperation between the two countries.

The Uzbek-British Board of Trade and Industry is the main bilateral forum designed to promote the development of trade-economic and investment relations between Uzbekistan and Great Britain. The board meetings are held on an annual basis in Tashkent and London.

The Uzbek-British foreign trade turnover amounted to about $ 100 million in 2013. Some 140 enterprises with British capital are operating in various sectors of the Uzbek economy today. The representative offices of 88 British companies have been accredited in Tashkent.
