By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

There are many formal and informal channels for conduction of negotiations between the Iranian and U.S. presidents, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

"If I myself or President Barack Obama wants to discuss any issue, we communicate through correspondence. There is not any obstacle in this issue," he said, commenting on Obama's special message, which was sent by a spiritual adviser, Iranian IRINN TV channel reported.

Rouhani said that he repeatedly exchanged letters with the U.S. president. At the moment, the Iranian and the U.S. representatives continue discussion with the "5 +1" member countries, he said.

"I have not received a message from U.S. President through a religious figure," the president said.

Recall that Rouhani is the first Iranian president who has had a telephone conversation with the U.S. president since the Islamic revolution.
