Dmitry Turgenev, the representative of the Russian delegation, who arrived at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku, is impressed with the organization of the tournament.

"I attend such an event as the European Championships for the first time," Turgenev shared his impressions on the tournament and the capital of Azerbaijan with Trend. "I liked everything very much."

Turgenev said that he was impressed with the new National Gymnastics Arena, where the Championship is being held.

The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is being held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.

Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries have been competing for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time. The championship is scheduled to wrap up on June 15.

Azerbaijan has recently ranked third in the team tournament among juniors held at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku on June 14.

In total, Azerbaijan scored 94.364 points.

Russian gymnast Irina Annenkova took the first place at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in the exercises with the ball among juniors, scoring 16.300 points.

Azerbaijani gymnast Jala Piriyeva ranked second with 16.300 points in individual exercises with a hoop.
