Kyrgyzstan and Japan have great potential for cooperation in the energy, industry, food and the environment spheres, Kabar news agency reported, citing the head of the delegation of Japan Parliament's House of Representatives members Yoshiaki Harada.

During the meeting with Kyrgyz parliament's deputy speaker Asiya Sasykbayeva, the prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, including the field of inter-parliamentary relations, were discussed.

Sasykbayeva stressed the visit of Kyrgyz president Almazbek Atambayev to Japan in 2013, has opened a new stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries.

"Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the strengthening of interstate relations with Japan. Relations between our countries are improving every year", Sasykbaeva said.

She stressed the special role of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Kyrgyzstan, which is supporting the implementation of various infrastructure projects.

Harada also stressed that Kyrgyzstan and Japan are developing close ties. He stressed
that the countries have significant potential for enhanced cooperation in the energy, industry, food, environmental protection fields.
