The discussions on the draft resolution of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security are underway as part of the 23rd session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Baku.

Some 49 written and many oral proposals on the draft resolution were made. The 14th amendment to the draft resolution, opposed by Russia was adopted at today's meeting of the committee.

The amendment emphasizes the importance of addressing concern in connection with security issues because of Russian military activity. The regret over Russia's refusal to agree to a dialogue and cooperation was expressed.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security, bureau member Azay Guliyev told journalists that the amendment was adopted as proposed. He also stressed that the draft resolution with the amendment will be submitted for discussion at the committee this afternoon.

Before the discussions, the member of the Russian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Slutsky delivered a speech at the meeting.

Despite Ukrainian President Petr Poroshenko announcing a ceasefire regime, the Ukrainian army continues military operations.

As a result, shells dropped in the territory of the Rostov region of Russia and several people were severely injured. Slutsky opposes the 14th amendment. He said that the resolution of the committee, which will be adopted, must be in a constructive spirit.
