Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has congratulated the U.S. people on their Independence Day.
Margvelashvili sent a congratulatory letter to the U.S. President Barack Obama on July 4.
"On behalf of the Georgian people and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the 238th anniversary of proclamation of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. I congratulate the U.S. people on this day and express gratitude for the inestimable contribution to the development of democracy in Georgia and support to our country," the letter said.
"I would like to express hope that our cooperation that is based on the shared principles and values and develops in all fields under the Georgian-US Strategic Partnership Charter, will be stronger and deeper in the future," Georgian president said.
Margvelashvili also invited the U.S. President Barack Obama to visit Georgia at any convenient time for him, to hold in-depth discussions on the current and future cooperation between the two countries.
Georgian president wished the U.S. people peace and prosperity.
