An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale occurred in the vicinity of the Darab city of Iran`s Fars province, the Iranian iribnews television reported.
The earthquake occurred at 07:41 local time on July 5, according to the Seismological Center of the Tehran University's Geophysics Institute
There has not been report regarding the causalities.
Earlier, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit the Baba Monir township in the Iranian province of Fars on June 21. Reportedly, the earthquake caused damage to houses in Baba Monir and several houses were destroyed.
