As of 10:00 local time on July 12, all polling stations where the voting takes place within the framework of the second round of municipal elections, are open in Georgia.

"Georgian Dream" candidate David Narmania and the candidate of the former ruling "United National Movement" party, Nika Melia compete in the second round of elections for the post of Tbilisi mayor.

Moreover, the mayors of seven more cities, and 13 heads of local administration will also be elected.

The elections take place in a calm atmosphere, and no serious problems have yet been revealed, chairman of Georgia`s Central Election Commission (CEC) Tamar Zhvania told journalists.

The CEC head said that the second round of the municipal elections held in only eight cities and 13 local governments in Georgia, and the voting results will be made public after its completion at 20:00.

Furthermore, Zhvania called on voters to actively participate in the elections.
