Normal technological mode of heat supply will be restored in the Kazakh city of Kentau today, Feb.7, Akim of South Kazakhstan region Askar Myrzakhmetov said at the cabinet meeting.

Currently two boilers are working, while one has been just installed, he added.

"Repair of the seventh boiler has completed and we will launch the furnace regime in one or one and half hour. We can say, we are launching the technological regime. The temperature is +20 at the exit, and soon it will rise up to +30. The eleventh boiler is also being repaired. I think, the normal technological mode will be launched till the end of today," Myrzakhmetov said.

So far, 35,000 people have been left without heating due to the breakdown at the TPP-5 in Kentau. The stoppage in the work of thermal power plant hampered the heat supply to the residents of 326 multistoried buildings and more than one thousand private houses.
Transformer broke down due to fall in temperature to minus 30 degrees. During its connection, the TPP boilers stopped and fuel oil froze, which complicated the recovery of the system.

The situation in the city is under control, all schools are provided with autonomous heating, and classes are not interrupted. Health facilities also operate in normal mode, Myrzakhmetov added.

According to the Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko, welding on the mazout line has been completed.

"Now we supply heat on the solar oil, but as soon as mazout line will be ready, the fuel oil will be supplied. Also we have fuel oil and coal reserves. Local television regularly reports about the state of repair work," Bozhko added.
