Train operation is blocked in Western Kazakhstan due to weather conditions

6 passenger trains were delayed at the railway crossing of Zhylyoy area and station Makat of Makat district in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan on February 8 due to strong storm and a snow drift on the main railway line, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported.

6 passenger trains were delayed at the railway crossing of Zhylyoy area and station Makat of Makat district in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan on February 8 due to strong storm and a snow drift on the main railway line, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported.

Delayed trains are - № 377 "Mangyshlak-Almaty", № 319 "Dushanbe-Moscow", № 37 "Mangyshlak-Astana", № 313 "Mangyshlak-Atyrau", № 310 "Aktobe-Mangyshlak", № 320 "Moscow-Dushanbe."

Snow cleaning equipment from Ganyushkino and Makat stations was used for railways cleaning. Total of 80 employees were sent to clean railway crossing.

As of 06 hours 00 min. 09/02/2012, the passenger trains number 313, 377 are taken to the station Kulsary. The passenger train № 310 taken to the station Makat. The passenger train № 662 "Atyrau-Kulsary" in 22 hours 10 minutes 08/02/2012 arrived back at the station of departure city of Atyrau. Employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Atyrau region provide trains passengers with food and water.

In addition, in 17 hours 30 minutes 08/02/2012, the Department of Emergency Situations of the Atyrau region received a telephone message from the duty of the railway department of the city of Atyrau that at 470th crossing of Kulsary-Makat railway while replacing 5 empty wagons there was derailment of a wagon. 10 personnel, two units of equipment, repairing train and 5 employees from Makat station involved in breakdown elimination. At 22 hours 00 min. 08/02/2012, work on elimination the vanishing train at the railway crossing 470 Kulsary-Makat was completed. No casualties or injuries were reported.
