Joint exercises of the Kazakh and Russian experts on organizing respond to forest and steppe fires of transboundary character were conducted in the Kazakh city of Semey, Kazakh Agriculture Ministry told Trend.

The exercises were conducted in the Far Forestry of Zhanasemey branch of the State Forest Nature Reserve "Semey ormany", bordering with the Russian Federation.

The participants of the conducted activities are representatives of the Committee on Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Agriculture, Committee of Fire Service of the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry, Akimat of the East Kazakhstan region, Natural Resources and Nature Management Regulation Department of the East Kazakhstan region, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Forestry of Altai region of Russia.

Some 104 personnel, a helicopter Mi-2, a helicopter MI-8, 31 units of fire equipment from the Kazakh side were involved to conduct tactical exercises. Another 24 staff members and 8 units of fire fighting equipment were involved from the Russian Federation.
