Fire hit compressor shop No.1 on the territory of a gas-processing plant in Zhanaozen city in the Kazakh Mangistau region at 23:22 on June 6, the enterprise administration reported on Thursday.
The fire was contained at 00:44, while it was extinguished at 01:05. Technological process was halted.
A great number of crew members and equipment was involved in extinguishing the fire.
The shop operator was hospitalized with thermal burns from the scene. At the moment, he is getting necessary medical care.
According to the report, a special commission has been set up to investigate causes of the fire. The incident does not post any danger to life and health of Zhanaozen residents.
