An international conference From the nuclear test ban to a world free of nuclear weapons, which brings together parliamentarians from around the world will be held in Astana on August 27-29, the Majilis (lower chamber of parliament), with reference to the Chairman of the Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin said on Thursday.

The Speaker of the Majilis said about it during the meeting with Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Bedrich Kopecky.

"Nurlan Nigmatullin expressed confidence that the conference will be attended by the Czech parliament," a statement said.

The parties were unanimous that the planned forum will contribute to the common cause of strengthening peace and security.

In addition, during the meeting the sides exchanged views on topical issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic. It was noted that the Kazakh-Czech relations have a strategic partnership nature.

The two sides expressed confidence in further development of interparliamentary relations. At the same time Nurlan Nigmatulin highlighted friendly relations established between the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the Czech Chamber of Deputies.
