Former Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov previously appealed to the president about his resignation, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a press briefing on Monday, RIA Novosti reported.
Former Prime Minister Karim Massimov has been appointed as the head of the presidential administration. All members of the Government shall serve until Massimov to form a new cabinet. Serik Akhmetov was appointed as new prime minister.
Nazarbayev said that Massimov headed our government professionally and very actively.
Nazarbayev acknowledged that we use much efforts and time for every one person nominated for major posts. So, I appointed him as the head of the presidential office.
Nazarbayev said that it is necessary in the present turbulent period and the rapidly changing situation in the world markets and in the country.
