The Government of Kazakhstan has decided to upgrade and expand the 188-kilometer stretch of road between the two metropolitan areas of the country - Astana and Almaty.
It was reported in an official response of Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov on parliamentary inquiry of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan Ak Jol.
A narrow blade and the absence of the barrier at Astana-Almaty route leads to severe accidents.
