A delegation from the Chinese National Defence University made an official visit to Kazakhstan, a statement by the Kazakh Defence Ministry stated on Friday.
The meeting between the Kazakh and Chinese delegation took place during the visit to Astana by the head of the military education and science department at Kazakh Defence Ministry, major general Yedil Urazov.
According to Urazov, Kazakhstan and China have reached a high level of mutual understanding and are unanimous on the basic issues of security in the modern world. China is one of the priority partners of Kazakhstan in the field of defence.
Delegation members of the Chinese National Defence University noted that regular meetings give a sufficiently high boost to the relationship between the two military institutions.
The main areas of cooperation between the armed forces of Kazakhstan and China are in the training of Kazakh servicemen in Chinese military educational institutions and technical area. These issues were discussed during the visit.
More than 100 members of the Kazakh Army have been trained in China since 2003.
Both sides expressed confidence in further strengthening the friendly relations between the armed forces of the two countries.
