Kazakh ambassador to Egypt elected as ISESCO Executive Council deputy chairman

The Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt Berik Aryn has been elected as deputy chairman of the Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt Berik Aryn has been elected as deputy chairman of the Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

'The capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Riyadh, hosted the 33rd meeting of the Executive Council and the 11th ISESCO General Conference. At the meeting, new staff and the Executive Council leadership were elected. Member of the Council from Kazakhstan, Ambassador Berik Aryn was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council', the report says.

According to the report, at the conference Tunisian Education Minister Abdellatif Abid transferred his presidency of the organisation to Saudi Minister of Higher Education, Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Anqari.

A new ISESCO emblem was approved at the Forum.

'Now the emblem of the organisation will be in the form of planet with an image of the Kaaba in the centre of it', the report says.

During the conference a meeting was held between members of the Kazakh delegation and ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, during which the sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the organisation and in particular the possibility of opening a ISESCO representative office in Kazakhstan.
