A working meeting was held at the headquarters of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) in Paris on the preparation of the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana, Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
The meeting was attended by commissioner for EXPO-2017 international specialised exhibition and executive secretary of Kazakh Foreign Ministry Rapil Zhoshybayev, board chairman of Astana EXPO-2017 national company Talgat Ermegiyaev and secretary general of the International Exhibitions Bureau Vicente Loscertales. Kazakhstan's Ambassador to France Nurlan Danenov also took part in the consultations on preparation for the event.
During the meeting, Zhoshybayev assured the BIE secretary general that the commissariat will do everything to hold the exhibition at the highest level.
Ermegiyaev expressed the hope that all BIE member states will participate in this international event, given the urgency of the chosen theme 'Energy for the future'. In this regard, practical advice and recommendations of BIE are valuable for Astana.
Loscertales said he witnessed such a triumphant victory of a candidate city for the first time in 20 years.
He also noted the importance of the support to the exhibition from the Kazakh president, members of the government and people of the country.
