In weekends three Kazakh citizens were detained by border guards stationed on the Kazakh frontier of Kyzyl Asker who belonged to Saryagash Border Unit, 15 kilometers away from the frontier, the Border Guard Service of the Kazakh National Security Committee's press service reported on Monday.
These people tried to smuggle a ton of consumer goods from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan through the Bozsu channel," the statement said.
The group was stopped by the Kordai border detachment seven kilometers away from the Kaynar frontier. Here, the border detachment stopped a Mitsubishi Delica which was transporting clothes. The weight of goods was 1.5 tons. The driver escaped to Kyrgyzstan; in Kazakhstan, a Mitsubishi-Pajero was waiting to pick up the load. The Kazakh citizen was arrested.
At the checkpoint Kordai Auto the same border detachment arrested a Kyrgyz citizen, who drove from Kazakhstan in a Lexus. Undeclared sums of money $12.000, 200.900 tenge (153.01 tenge = $ 1) and more than 1,000 soum (KGS 100 soum= $42.0481) were found during the inspection.
Criminal procedures on the fact of violation of the state border are underway.
