The Kazakh Foreign Ministry gave the name of the Kazakh who was detained in Kyrgyzstan among Syrian militants.
"According to the information from Kazakh embassy in Bishkek, the citizen of Kazakhstan Sergei Leskevich (born in 1988), resident of Tomak city of Kyrgyzstan's Chui province is among the detained.," a message from the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan, a group of militants who planned to commit terrorist attacks in Bishkek and Osh cities was detained in Kyrgyzstan's Osh province in late August, 2013.
Currently, law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are conducting a joint investigation.
