Kazakhstan and Russia held the next round of ministerial consultations on consular issues, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Within the consultations the parties raised the issues of Russian citizens' rights in Kazakhstan and Kazakh citizens' rights in Russia and exchanged information on the prospects of expanding of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation in the field of migration.
The ministerial delegations also reviewed the state of bilateral relations in the consular field.
In particular, they reviewed the implementation of the Consular Convention between Russian and Kazakhstan from 1994, the Convention on Legal Assistance, Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters from 1993 and other bilateral and multilateral agreements.
The next round of the Russian-Kazakh consultations will take place in Kazakhstan in 2014.
