By Daniar Mukhtarov - Trend: Kazakhstan and Canada will sign an agreement on peaceful use of atomic energy, spokesman of the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan, Altai Abibullayev said on Nov. 11.

The signing ceremony will be held during the visit of the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Baird to Astana.

According to Abibullayev, the first official visit of the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs to Kazakhstan will be held on November 13-14.

"This is the first visit of the Canadian Minister for the time of establishment of diplomatic relations. Canada is our important partner for NATO," Altai Abibullayev said.

According to Abibullayev, a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Erlan Idrisov and John Baird will be held during the visit. The sides intend to discuss the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

"During the visit, the Canadian Minister, John Baird will meet with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Asset Issekeshev. Following the meeting, they will sign an agreement on peaceful use of atomic energy," Abibullayev added.
