Kazakh vice Minister of Agriculture, Muslim Umiryaev, detained by the financial police, supervised agriculture and scientific policy, rather than the public procurement of veterinary drugs, the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture told Trend on Monday.

"Vice-Minister Muslim Umiryaev is charged under agriculture and scientific policy, rather than public procurement in veterinary drugs," spokesman for the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture Saken Kalkamanov told Trend over phone. "And this is what he is accused under."

It was previously reported that search operations were conducted by the Kazakh Financial Police on December 21. Umiryaev was detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe worth $100,000 from a businessman for assisting in the winning of public procurement tenders.

On the same day the case on receiving a huge bribe was filed against the vice-minister. Currently, the investigation is underway in Kazakhstan.

Other information has not been disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
