The Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs are to sign an agreement to jointly work to reduce the number of administrative barriers for business development in the industrial sector, as well as prepare a second five-year industrialisation programme.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev and chairman of the chamber board Ablay Myrzahmetov arrived at this agreement.

In particular, working groups will be established for each of the industrial sectors as part of the programme development. The representatives of the ministry, the chamber and enterprises will join these groups.

The parties intend to initiate work in all areas, supervised by the Ministry of Industry, to improve the business climate. All laws and procedures will be analysed in energy, geology and subsoil use, tourism, the construction industry, pharmaceuticals, machinery, light and chemical industry, mining and metallurgical complex and innovations.

The document will soon be signed to begin the practical implementation of the plan of operations next month.

During a national TV conference with the regions on December 20, the president gave instructions on a large scale revision of Kazakh legislation to cancel the rules hampering the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
