Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered to hold capital amnesty before the introduction of the general declaration of expenses, which is scheduled to start on January 1, 2017, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

"I order the National Bank together with the government to develop and submit for my consideration a draft on capital amnesty until June 1, 2014," Nazarbayev said at a meeting of the National Investors Council in Astana.

The measure should be implementing until the introduction of the general declaration.

"It is necessary to ensure efficiency, confidentiality and objectivity of the program," Nazarbayev said.

"This measure is the first step and it will be followed by a general declaration of expenses. This measure will bring large part of our economy out of the shadows and bring us to the level of economy transparency of the developed countries," he said.
